Merry Meet too you all!! I would like to start out by saying that the purpose of this blog is to help others understand what Wicca is and help them also understand that Wiccans are not evil "Devil worshiping" people. I am a Solitary Wiccan Practitioner. Wicca, for most; is the belief of a God, Goddess and the belief that nature has a life and energy all its own. This is also described in the witches pyramid. The Witches Pyramid is commonly known as the pentagram. The pentagram represents the five elements: Spirit (the top point of the pentagram), Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The circle around the pentagram that connects the five points of the star simply represent that each element is connected to one another. I am a naturalistic Wiccan, which is a Wiccan practitioner that has a close connection to the energy from others and the energy that nature provides. I am very connected to the pentagram and the five elements that it represents. A lot of people that don't understand Wicca believe that Wicca is all about magic.. COMPLETELY UNTRUE!!! Yes. Wiccans do cast spells and preform rituals. However, spells are not about manipulating things to get what you desire. For example, if you cast a spell for money or love, that doesn't mean you can go out and someone will all of a sudden appear with a check for you or will fall in love with you. The purpose of a spell is to bring good energies to yourself to help you get the things you desire. You have to assist your spell, it cannot do it on it's own. After casting a spell, use the energy you bring to yourself to help yourself get the things you desire. Energy can only do so much by itself, you have to help it along the way. Rituals are performed to celebrate the equinoxes and the changing of the seasons. They are not used to invoke evil entities or power. Wicca is a very peaceful spiritual practice. In closing, Wicca can be very enticing to people in the magical sense but, you must know; Wicca is not just about magic. If you are interested in learning more about Wicca, I recommend going to a spiritual bookstore and reading up the the practice. I recommend Scott Cunningham's book "Wicca The Solitary Practitioner." This book explains the Wiccan practice from the magical aspect to the spiritual aspect. I also recommend checking out TipToeChick on YouTube. She is also a Solitary Wiccan Practitioner.
